In CDT we have been asked by our teacher to come up with our own projects for CDT, these could be anything we like. I am going to use this page to put up all the information related to my project. I hope to put photo's and learning on this page.
My project
I am really interested in Rally car design. I found out recently that a team in Scotland are starting to develop an eRally car. I would like to try to design my own Rally car and learn about what is important in Rally car design.

But Why?
The reason that I want to do this project is not just because I find it interesting. I was recently working with some other teachers, developing projects that linked CDT subjects and Sciences. A lot of the projects that they were developing related to sustainability and how Scotland can be an environmentally sound country to live in. I think this is important and would like to introduce my classes to this in the future.

What is an eRally Car?
An eRally car is an electric Rally car. This means that rather than using petrol to power it, it uses electricity. This is better for the environment as it releases no carbon dioxide emmisions. Electric cars are starting to become affordable for people to use on a daily basis, but the eRally team in Scotland have to deal with different challenges in their design because a rally race is very different to normal road driving.
